Soul Advice Column – How Do I Do Enlightenment?

Dear Lindsay,

I have lots of questions about enlightenment. Basically, I want to know how I can reach it?

What attitude should I have when doing anything? How should I do self inquiry on who I am and how can I be aware in general?

A lot of people say that you should drop illusions, attachments, and concepts, but I don’t get HOW I should do that?

Dear C.W.,

Your soul invites you to find a quiet place and take a few deep breaths. Consider letting all those questions go.

I know these questions may seem important, but your soul wants to reassure you that you don’t need to focus on these things.

There’s no attitude you need to have, self-inquiry practice you need to do, or method of dropping illusions or attachments that you need to study. These things happen naturally as you go through the awakening process.

What’s coming through loud and clear from your soul is this: Are you ready to experience enlightenment, not just know about it in your mind?

Because your life will change. Your soul is asking if you’re ready for your life to change in ways that may not always appear positive, but are all happening for the end result of you experiencing enlightenment?

The reality is, you ARE ready. Your soul just wants you to get clear with yourself and consciously choose the amazing experience that’s ahead of you.

C.W., your soul is also inviting you to put away your books and studies about enlightenment and let all that go. You can’t realize enlightenment through your mind. It’s a feeling, a sensation that’s outside the mind.

Trust that by making the choice for freedom, it’s already happening. It’s happening behind the scenes so to speak and you’ll see more and more “evidence” that it’s occurring as you go through your daily life.

Your perspectives will change as you go through the process. Books, videos, or teachers will come to you at the perfect time and give you exactly what you need in the moment. They’ll leave just as easily when you’ve gotten what you needed.

The point is, you don’t have to do anything. Your soul takes care of everything. Sounds a lot easier than trying to figure everything out, doesn’t it?

Your soul says yes, it is as easy as that. And you’re ready. You’re ready to let go of figuring it all out and ready to let the process unfold naturally.

Your soul is asking you to feel the truth in this statement:

There is nothing you need to do to realize enlightenment.

Your mind may not like that answer. It may even resist it. This goes against everything we’ve ever been taught about how to get what we want.

But if you can feel the truth in that statement and how good it feels to hear it, which, I know you can, that’s all you need. Keep trusting in that feeling and you’ll be well on your way.

  1. It feels a bit strange to not read and try practices, but also good 🙂
So does that mean that I shouldn’t do even meditation?
Yes,Soul,I’ll accept the Enlightenment,as soon as ”I” am ready 🙂
    Thanks for helping me 🙂

  2. I’m so glad this was helpful to you. It does feel strange to not be actively “doing” anything. The mind doesn’t like it. ?

You can do whatever you want, whatever feels good to do. If it feels good to meditate one day, meditate. If it doesn’t the next day, don’t do it. There’s nothing you HAVE to do, so just do what feels good in the moment.

It’s really that easy, but it’s such a foreign concept for all of us when we’ve been taught most of our lives to ignore our feelings. Feelings are the language of the soul.

  3. Dear Lindsay. Bravo ??can compare what you say with my planing ..or rather no planing for my USA trip..mind telling me “you have to know where you go at this8 or that all the rooms otherwise you will find nothing…?it is the first time i follow strong Impuls..So merely intuition…enlightment is like traveling ?hugs

  4. This is so well-written and such a wonderful piece of advice. I’m such a “do-er” and now that I’m in what I call my manifestation stage just “being” is more difficult. I think I really needed to read this! 🙂 Thank you Lindsay!
